In each of Orient Express Venezia at Palazzo Donà Giovannelli’s 47 guestrooms and suites, centuries of Venetian grandeur are typified in this romantic sanctuary. Touches like hand-carved doors, Rivolta Carmignani linen (the brand made famous by the original Orient Express train), and Murano glass accents fill every corner. Signature suites on the first floor and main floor capture the grandeur of Venetian nobility, while a separate wing introduces residential style suites with a more contemporary layout.

La Minerva Suite
Named after Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom and the arts, this signature suite is in one of the Palazzo’s most iconic corners, overlooking two canals. The space is crowned by an original 1710 fresco by Jacopo Guarana, one of the oldest artistic treasures in the hotel, set within a curved, reeded ceiling framed by delicate stuccoes. Pastel furnishings reflect the fresco’s tones, while a Murano-accented drinks cabinet invites a pause to watch boats glide below. The king bed faces a rare Venetian corner window, flooding the room with reflections of water and sky. The experience concludes in a bathroom carved entirely from Venetian marble, its sculptural forms recalling Ca’ d’Oro and the Basilica di San Marco.

Teatro Suite
Venice’s 19th-century revival comes alive in the Teatro Suite, where interiors were restored and reimagined. Overlooking the Rio di Santa Fosca, the suite is crowned by an original 1860 fresco by Giacomo Casa. The bright salon is furnished with contemporary seating and a dining table, while the master bedroom, with king bed facing the canal, opens onto a generous dressing area. A full marble bathroom completes the suite, with dual basins, a deep soaking tub, and sculptural architectural details that echo Venice’s artistic legacy.

Color Persi Suite
Inspired by 16th-century pigment names and poetic lore, Colori Persi means “lost colors.” The corner signature suite is thus crowned by an original 1860 Neo-Rococo fresco by Eugenio Moretti Larese. The salon is filled with natural light, set over Venetian terrazzo floors, and framed by sculpted moldings and soft finishes. A full marble bathroom completes the suite, featuring dual basins, a walk-in shower and bathtub, alongside a dedicated dressing room.

Cherubini Suite
Named for the cherubs that run across its walls, the Cherubini Suite overlooks the Palazzo gardens and Strada Nova. Its salon is framed by a rediscovered frieze by Sebastiano Santi and crowned by a finely worked wooden coffered ceiling. Natural light fills the living space, with contemporary seating alongside a Murano-accented drinks cabinet. A full marble bathroom completes the suite, featuring dual basins, a deep soaking tub, and a dedicated vanity desk.

Del Conte Suite
Once the private residence of Count Viovanelli, this intimate signature suite reflects the cultivated spirit of one of the Palazzo’s most distinguished inhabitants. Named for Count Giovannelli, humanist and patron of the arts, the suite reflects the cultivated taste of one of Palazzo's most distinguished inhabitants. Layers of architectural history unfold here: neo-Gothic stained-glass windows, arched corridors, and wooden or brick partitions highlight Venetian craftsmanship, while Pompeian-inspired ornamentation and 1930s finishes evoke patrician villas and classical refinement. Light filters gently through the arched openings, revealing an intimate apartment where history and comfort coexist seamlessly. A marble bathroom provides a finishing touch of elegance.

Orient Express Suite
The Orient Express Suite celebrates Venice as a city of intellect, art, and spectacle. Paintings by Antonio Zona and Giovanni Busato grace the salon, complemented by carved beams, sculptural fireplaces, and gilded details. The master bedroom features a couture canopy over the king-size bed, Murano chandeliers, and a restored corner window bringing the canal close. A marble bathroom with freestanding tub, walk-in shower, and double basins, alongside a dedicated dressing lounge, offers a space for ritual, preparation, and pause.
