Ritz hotels then were in Paris, London, and Madrid. After the end of World War I, Francesc Cambó, a politician, visited the Ritz Madrid and thought Barcelona deserved a Ritz of its own. He convinced César Ritz to build a hotel in Barcelona with the idea it was going to give the vibrant city a boost and be a place for people to gather. Today, El Palace Barcelona has witnessed over 100 years of history and remains a place for gathering creating long-lasting memories.
