- Observe the historical architecture, a fusion of neoclassical aesthetics and structure. The original design of Sommerro was creatively done by Norwegian architects, Andreas Bjercke and Georg Eliassen. Construction started in 1917 and lasted 13 years until completion.
- Admire the thought and devotion required to capture Sommerro’s elegant complexity. Architectural techniques such as hand-hammering bare brick were used in construction to add to the Art Deco aesthetic. Professional sculptor, Asbjørg Borgfelt, used his skills to carve stone pillars at the entrance of the hotel.
- Venture into the main hall to look at the subtle but rich details of Sommerro which were delicately done by Norwegian artist, Per Krohg. Krohg created the murals that can be seen in the main hall, the ceiling fresco, and a mosaic feature in the spa and pool area wall that guests love to see.
