Venture along the Caminito del Rey route. Running through the landscapes of the Paraje Natural Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, the Caminito del Ray is an aerial trail built in the walls of the Gaitanes gorge and hovering around 100 meters above the Guadalhorce River. The route originated as a maintenance trail for the Hydroelectric Power Station El Chorro and was completed in 1905. In 1921, King Alfonso XIII crossed this trail on his way the Conde del Guadalhorce dam, and since then, the trail has been called “Caminito del Rey” or the “King’s Way.”

At 1,215 meters above sea level, the peak of the mountain provides exceptional views over the Costa del Sol. On sunny days, hikers can even see Gibraltar, Africa’s coast, and the Atlas Mountains.
