A member of Historic Hotels Worldwide since 2016, Hacienda Temozon, A Luxury Collection Hotel, was constructed during an era marked by global exploration that defined much of the 15th through the 17th centuries. The origins of Hacienda Temozon began in the 1600s, when it was founded as a rustic cattle hacienda. It reached the height of its economic success during the boom in local sisal production nearly two centuries later. After the introduction of nylon ropes, Temozon and all the haciendas in the region fell into decline, with most being overtaken by the jungle. A group of private investors fortunately saved Hacienda Temozon by transforming it into a stunning luxury hotel. Using ancient Mayan techniques, the historic quarters were transformed into extravagant guestrooms. Each space reflects the luxuriant simplicity of country living that defined the area during the 19th century. The gardens are impeccably tended to showcase the impressive architecture.
