Great Southern Killarney

The Great Southern Killarney has been a focal point of the historic town of Killarney since opening in 1854. After the grand opening of the first railway line from Dublin to Killarney, the Great Southern and Western Railway Company wanted to build a “Grand Hotel” outside of Dublin. The company considered many regions, but ultimately chose Killarney to be the location of their magnificent project. Today, the Great Southern Killarney has a variety of accommodation options, including luxurious guestrooms, one- and two-bedroom suites with dressing rooms and/or lounges, self-catering holiday homes, and two Victorian cottage apartments. Each of the 177 guestrooms and suites offer sumptuous luxury, whether within the hotel's original Victorian building, with its high ceilings and tall windows, or in the Garden Wing, where chic guestrooms offer contemporary accents and style.
