The American Club has a tradition of excellence in accommodations, golf, spa and, naturally, dining. The Immigrant, our fine-dining establishment, has received the AAA Four Diamond Award for its 17th consecutive year and is a Forbes Four-Star restaurant.

The Immigrant Restaurant
This Forbes Four Star restaurant at The American Club is widely noted for exceeding expectations and creating memorable dining experiences. A Wine Spectator "Best of Award of Excellence" recipient, The Immigrant Restaurant was voted the “#1 Hotel Restaurant” in the USA TODAY “10Best Readers' Choice Awards.” Rich in character and historic elegance, this award-winning restaurant is arranged in a series of six rooms paying homage to the style of early Wisconsin settlers: French, Dutch, German, Normandy, Danish and English. Enjoy the Immigrant’s artful presentations of contemporary American cuisine with modern European influences. Each dish is composed using the best the market has to offer.

The Immigrant Winery
Visit this European-style wine cellar for a pre-dinner drink, or spend the evening enjoying hand-rolled sushi, more than 40 award-winning Wisconsin cheeses and delicious small plates. Adjacent to The Immigrant Restaurant, this comfortable lounge offers nearly 1000 wine selections, all of them rated 90 and above by Wine Spectator and Robert Parker. It also features an extensive selection of single-malt Scotches and Cognacs.

*The Greenhouse
This charming antique solarium from Chorley, Lancashire, in the north of England, was meticulously dismantled there, transported halfway ’round the world and reassembled piece by piece to stand in its current home, The American Club Fountain Courtyard. It now serves as a delightful garden café for afternoon and evening refreshments. Bring a laptop and get caught up on emails while enjoying coffee and pastries, or meet friends for relaxing conversation. The Greenhouse offers a tempting selection of deli sandwiches, sweet treats, homemade ice cream, European pastries, signature teas and espresso drinks.

The Horse and Plow
This casual historic tavern was once the taproom for Kohler Co. workers who lived at The American Club. Abundant booths convey a cozy atmosphere, while the tabletops, made from the original American Club bowling alley, perpetuate the historic tradition of Kohler Co. An expansive bar accommodates guests beyond the restaurant area, and a lower-level lounge features cozy furniture, televisions and fireplace. Enjoy American classics, such as burgers and fish ‘n’ chips, as well as fresh, innovative selections, such as the hotel’s classic take on Midwestern chicken salad and grilled salmon. With an exceptional selection of American microbrews and premium European beers, The Horse & Plow is a great place to meet for lunch or an after-dinner drink.

The Wisconsin Room
The original dining hall of immigrant workers for Kohler Co., The Wisconsin Room features innovative, farm-fresh cuisine in an elegant but approachable atmosphere. The menu, which rotates seasonally, is frequently complemented by daily specials drawing inspiration from what’s in harvest at that moment. During the spring, guests might experience local morels, wild ramps, spring lamb, and freshly caught fish from the Great Lakes. Then in summer, the chef might feature wild strawberries, fresh herbs from the garden, and a wide selection of freshly harvested local produce. Be sure to enjoy a before-dinner drink in the Library Bar, which features specialty martinis and an extensive wine list.

*Greenhouse will be closing for major renovations in 2023. Construction is estimated at 6-8 weeks starting April 10^th, 2023, with a tentative opening date of June 1^st, 2023. During this time, The Greenhouse will operate out of the Washington Room with a slightly modified menu. 6am-11am daily. Guests should be encouraged to use the Lobby and Washington Room for complimentary morning coffee. Complimentary afternoon tea will be available in the Lobby alone.
