Schweizerhof Lucerne: Between luxury and sustainability

Planning and implementing a hotel with a strong focus on sustainability on the proverbial blank sheet of paper is apparently easy. As long as you approach this consistently. Things get more difficult when you want to bring a house with tradition and history into the modern era and world of sustainability. Here it is not just your own circumstances that slow down such change, but also circumstances that you only have limited control over. Starting with the guests of the house, as well as political guidelines and the environment in which you move.
In this respect, it was exciting for us to be able to take a look behind the scenes at the Schweizerhof Lucerne after the Berglodge37 and the Stoos Lodge at the end of our trip to Switzerland. A house that was opened in 1845 on Lake Lucerne, in close proximity to the old town and the KKL Lucerne culture and congress center. As a five-star hotel in a beautiful location with a corresponding history, the path to sustainability is not entirely easy, but it is also consistently approached there.
