Icon of Brazilian hospitality, the Fera Palace building turns 90 years old; remeber your story

An icon of Salvador's hospitality industry, the Fera Palace Hotel has, in its history, been a pioneering brand. Located on the first street in Brazil, Rua Chile, in the Historic Center of the capital of Bahia, the building was built in 1934, exactly 90 years ago , as the first luxury hotel in the Northeast. The imposing building, originally opened simply as the Palace Hotel, has been under new management and with a new name for 7 years, being a reference of luxury and an architectural landmark of the city and a symbol of Salvador's tourism.
After years, since the end of the 1980s, in decline and with its doors closed, the property was rescued by Fera Investimentos, which has been investing in the Historic Center of Salvador since 2011 , with several real estate projects. Since then, the company's founders, Antonio Mazzafera and Marcelo Faria Lima, have taken over the management of the hotel equipment, positioning it where it deserves.
Far beyond the physical structure, the company restored the hotel's tradition and sophistication , rescuing its golden days in the 1930s, respecting one of its most important features, the facade, listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN) and made up of 230 original external decorations and 640 solid wood windows, meticulously restored. The project was designed by award-winning Danish architect Adam Kurdahl, who brought to life the development that, since 2017, has been the Fera Palace Hotel .
