The Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, located in Tazacorte (La Palma) is the only Spanish representative in the nominations for the Historic Hotels Worldwide Awards of Excellence 2021, awards that recognize historic hotels, hoteliers and the most exemplary leadership practices. Specifically, the Palma hotel is nominated as the best historic hotel in Europe, for which it will have to beat 16 other nominees.
"We are pleased to recognize Hotel Hacienda de Abajo as one of the finalists nominated for this award. This hotel is part of a select group of nominees in various categories," announced Lawrence Horwitz , Executive Vice President of Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide. It is an entity based in Washington DC that brings together more than 350 hotels with historical value in which remarkable preservation work has been done. It includes ancient castles, châteaux, palaces, academies, estates, villas, monasteries, and other historic accommodations over 75 years old.
"It is an honor and pride for all of us who make up the Hacienda de Abajo family," said Javier Navarro , managing director of the establishment. "This nomination brings us joy at the situation we are experiencing on our Isla Bonita. It gives us the strength to continue improving and giving the best of ourselves every day so that together we can recover this paradise that is La Palma ", he added.
