Three of America’s classic resorts located in New York, Maine and Colorado have announced plans to reopen this summer, just in time for a much-needed getaway. Each hotel has laid out the standards for accepting guests, based on the ever-changing rules in their respective state. This may be a very different summer as a guest but at least there will be a summer.
The Otesaga Resort Hotel is a historic lakeside property located in Cooperstown in upstate New York that re-opened on June 15. This 132-room grand dame debuted in 1909 and has amenities like the 18-hole Leatherstocking Golf Course. A member of the Historic Hotels of America and a AAA Four-Diamond hotel, one of the prime attractions in the area is the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum (which, alas, is closed for the moment). Thanks to a grand porch lined with rocking chairs overlooking Otsego Lake, it pretty much defines a summer vacation.
