The architectural form evolved by the earlier Georgian design principles, which influenced both British and American culture. Federal style is easy to recognize due to its unique symmetrical and geometric design elements and these foundations can be seen throughout Woolverton Inn.

Understand the materials and tools used for this particular Federal style architecture. The exterior walls were primarily composed of clapboard since the Inn was constructed in the countryside. However, in urban areas, most exterior walls are made from brick. The Palladian-themed windows and hipped roof convey a sense of balance that allow for natural light to infiltrate through the structure.
