• Visit the Old Town Scottsdale historic district and enjoy vintage boutiques, western-wear stores, art galleries, and an array of restaurants.

• Travel to the Sonoran Desert by hiking up Camelback Mountain or Squaw Peak, or head to Papago Park’s “Hole in the Rock” for a closeup of the rugged terrain. Early morning is the preferred hiking hour as the desert sun is not directly overhead. Be sure to bring plenty of water.

• Explore the stunning University of Arizona campus in Tucson, an easy two-hour drive directly south. Stroll down the “mall” and find the world-famous Flandreau Science Center and Planetarium and the University’s Mineral Museum. Take a trolley from the University and visit the funky shops and tasty eateries on nearby 4th Avenue.
