Between the 1910s and 1930s, trains arrived daily at Indianapolis’ Union Station carrying upwards of 300 travelers to the capital city. Many of these travelers’ destination was the Grand Hotel of Indianapolis. The modern hotel, built by Henry Severin Jr., represented the height of luxury when it opened in 1913. A magnificent Grand Ballroom with an Austrian crystal chandelier and a dramatic marble railing were unmistakable signs of the hotel’s exquisite grandeur. Today, Omni Severin Hotel features many of the establishment’s original features in a modern and renowned AAA Four Diamond hotel. Sumptuous guestrooms and 17,000 square feet of function space ensure a comfortable stay surrounded by history.
