The Belleview Inn was first constructed by railroad magnate Henry B. Plant as a way to attract business to one of his new railways in the St. Petersburg area. Debuting as the “Belleview Hotel” in 1897, it quickly gained a storied reputation. The hotel soon emerged as a haunt for the rich and famous, with Hollywood celebrities becoming a regular sight. And as it grew in popularity, so too did its size. Eventually measuring at 400,000 square feet, the building was the largest wooden-frame structure in all of Florida for many years. Reborn as the “Belleview Inn” during 2018, this delightful hotel is still among the most charming retreats throughout the country.
